Decker Electric is adding an additional industrial grade alcohol unit to an existing ethanol plant. The unique component to this unit is that it will produce alcohol for human use in the form of hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes and swabs. The alcohol will also be able to be used at distilleries.
The scope of work we completed was installing the wiring from the motors and instrumentation, lights and receptacles in the new unit and new steam boiler, and calibration and set up. There is also a new alcohol storage tank since this is a different product than their plant previously produces. The 160’ tower, the tallest component of the entire plant, was a challenge to get instrumentation and power installed. The project started in November 2020 and is expected to be completed the first week of May.
