The outdated Michigan Sugar Plant decided to add an air blown conveyor system to its plant. This four-week design-build project included our team taking the motor and instrumentation requirements, designing the electrical system to support, and routing all the cabling and conduit. This pneumatic conveyor system uses compressed air to move the sugar from one area to another using less energy. Our crews will tie into the existing conveyor system and complete start up.
Because of the old structure, there were elevation changes within the facility that had to be addressed. Installing new systems into old buildings always present a challenge but the Decker team was able to overcome them by working closely with the facility’s plant employees.
