Johnson’s Garden Center

Johnson’s Garden Center decided to grow more of their plant supply themselves due to lack of regional growers able to supply what they needed. They built a new greenhouse, the “Plant Factory,” starting in January of 2023. Decker Electric was hired as the electrical subcontractor and Johnson’s performed the General Contractor duties themselves. We worked with local utility to get power to the former corn field for the new facility. Decker designed/installed the electrical systems from the utility (Sedgwick County Electrical COOP) to the roof vents, fans, heaters, etc. throughout the 8 buildings on site. This project will be complete and fully operational for Spring of 2025’s plant crop.

Decker powered up an automated bale crusher/pot filling/watering/conveyor system that efficiently fills thousands of pots/trays an hour for transplanting and growing.
