Decker Electric completed construction on the Amber Wave Wheat Protein Facility in October of 2023 in Phillipsburg, Kansas. The facility is North America’s largest wheat protein facility. Decker was contracted to provide design-build services alongside automation contractor, Kice Industries, for electrical, instrumentation, fiber optic, telecommunications, access control and security camera systems. A new fiber optic loop consisting of over 3 miles of single mode OS2 cable provides connectivity between the ethanol plant and the wheat gluten facility and facilitates the fully automated process. In addition to the fiber optic backbone, our team also installed over 100 wireless access points to give operators visibility on production anywhere in the plant. To adhere to the strict food safety regulations, our team designed and installed over 100 cameras and secured more than 35 doors on the campus.
