Decker Electric Project Profiles
The team, the work, the experience - see examples of our electrical work. Learn about the projects Decker Electric is proud to have been a part of and how we worked to make budget, deadline and do everything needed to get the job done.
Just as 2019 was coming to an end, Decker Electric completed the design build project for East Kansas Agri-Energy. The work of our crew of project managers and experienced technicians included power, lighting, grounding, heat trace, controls and instrumentation. It was a very successful project. Our entire team worked diligently to complete it on time, on budget and accident free.
When the City of Wichita decided to go electric with their transit system, Decker Electric was called upon to help make the project a success. Ryan Atchison was foreman leading our crew of electricians on the City’s ProTerra Bus Charging Station project. From routing conduit and pulling wire, our crews performed all the necessary work on deadline to complete the project in time for the city’s new electric buses to hit the streets of Wichita by their fall 2019 goal.
Decker Electric’s electricians and telecommunications group partnered with Seaton Construction for a fast-track project on the Distributed Antenna System project for Pierson Wireless at Koch Arena on WSU’s campus. Ryan Atchison and Nick England led the electrical and low voltage crews to complete the work in time for Shocker basketball season. Our DAS work will improve the cell phone coverage fans will now have next time they attend their next Shocker basketball game!
We got to assist another electrical contractor finish work on the solar farm for Butler Rural Electrical Coop. We jumped in with 6 electricians and some wire pulling equipment to get the job completed within the original time frame. Thanks to Mike Perdue, Miles Cleary, John Perkins, Bill Thayer, Eric Phelps, Mason Smith, Scott Nelson, and Bryan Wallace for coming in and being problem solvers, and helping on the final push on this project.
On August 9th, 2019 the Tyson Holcomb plant in Holcomb, KS suffered a devastating fire that burned up the mezzanine and two large panel rooms. The fire was so bad that it shut the entire plant down, and it will not be back up and running for several months. Decker Electric showed up within 18 hours of the fire being put out, and began to make-safe and lock out / tag out the services that had been damaged.
Dave Wiley and Ryan Atchison led the crew on the successful COW Boiler Disconnect shut down this last Saturday. The project included pulling out all the old aluminum wiring and pulling in new copper to two new disconnects.
Decker Electric was excited to receive Substantial Completion at the Health Strategies and Ronald McDonald Projects with Key Construction earlier this month. A big congratulations to Foreman Ryan Atchison and his team for such a successful project. Thank you RMDH, Key Construction, PEC, HFG and CBRE for allowing us to be a part of this great Team and Project!
Decker Electric provided a variety of electrical services for two retail/service buildings for Gander Outdoor & Camping World in Wichita. Project Managers Joel Bahl and Blaine Clark headed up the project that included branch power, lighting, fire alarm systems, low voltage system rough-in, site lighting and power. Despite a delay in receiving equipment needed to complete the project, we were able adjust our work and manpower in order to meet the deadline. The entire project was completed in 10 months.
Decker Electric assisted East Kansas Agri-Energy, an Ethanol plant in Garnett, KS with a three day shutdown. We provided thermal imaging services several weeks ago to assist with preventive maintenance work performed during the shutdown. One of the tasks executed was the replacement of a 15 KV Vista Switch. Thanks to the hard work by our foremans Chris & Steve Dodson and all 11 Decker Electric electricians on site, our work was completed on time & accident free.
